A voice says, “Cry out.” And I said, “What shall I cry?” “All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field. The grass withers and flowers fail, because the breath of the LORD blows on them. Surely the people are grass. The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:6-8

So much to say, so little time. I have got to slow down. I will have some new blog stuff up shortly. First I must learn to stop and breathe, and usually when I do stop, it means that I am sleeping! God has given me opportunities to share what He has been teaching me. He has been showing me exactly who I am, and where I need to be in Him. And honestly it’s quite humbling. One thing I have discovered is that when we refrain, or abstain from humbling ourselves, God is awesome to do it for us. His word made evident in our lives is life, shining through the haze of our own attempts to understand just what He is trying to tell us. We/I all too often like to try to get in the way of His speaking to us. I have all too often been guilty of just reading the scriptures to just say that I have read it, without the earnest prayer of “What are You trying to say to me Father?”. I want to reflect the scriptures in my life, and I want to shine in His glory. May my life be honorable to God with all of my attempts to glorify Him. I am so afraid that I do not glorify Him in my life. Maybe that’s the point that I need to strive to understand. I think maybe a little fear that I am not glorifying Him can be good. Keeps me on my toes, keeps my, hopefully, honest in my attempts to flesh out my faith.

When I was young, as other children did, and still do, I loved it when mom and dad got something new, especially if it was something substantially large. That meant I got the box! Man, give me a sunshine day and box was a full days play. In the rain, it protected me from getting wet. And heaven forbid I find a killer hill to go down! Johnny Knoxville had NOTHING on me! Cut holes in it for a lookout window, or to shoot the enemy trying to sneak up on me, or even have a few buddies to see how many of us could fit in the box without tearing it. And if it tore . . . enter DUCT TAPE MAN!!!!! You know the addage about duct tape and drywall screws?!
