I have been hearing “rumblings” in the church community about this pastor named Rob Bell. The Chicago Tribune has deemed him the “New Billy Graham”. I have been doing some research into his hermeneutics and what he is teaching/preaching and I have concerns. I have included here a video from YouTube on an example of his teaching through the program NOOMA. Check it out, and let’s start talking about this!

Ok . . . I have never been to “formal” bible school or college, but I do like to study scripture using not just the bible, but also various study aids. I try my best to understand why God did some of the things He did, and then try to see the application, because it all applies in some form or facet, in my own life, and in turn glorifies Himself through that.

Ok . . . I am not an “end-times” follower and try not to let my emotions be guided by what seems to be what some call end-times events. All I see, and am commanded to live by, in the scriptures is what the Old Testament forecasts and what the New Testament says did, is, and will happen. But, in all of this we must realize that even in the last days, that God is still soverign and causes all things to happen in order to glorify Himself.

In my quiet time today, I was thinking about conscience, and exactly what part conscience plays in the decision making process. One thing became utterly clear; a guilty conscience can be its own punishment. Let’s look into this whole conviction thing, with the emphasis of the work of the Holy Spirit.
