Father, may we flesh out Romans 13:1. When we don’t understand circumstances, events, or the hearts of man, we can rest in the arms of Your grace, and know that You are sovereign and have all thing in the path of Your will. We must take comfort that in all things You will be glorified, whether we understand them, or are a part of that plan or not. You cause the wind to flow through the trees, and though we may not understand it, we must acknowledge that You made not only the wind, but that you caused it to move where You willed it. Even though we may not understand it, we must submit to those you put in authority. Though we may disagree, we must humbly bow at Your feet and acknowledge that You are King, and all others crawl in Your shadow. May you take this new leadership in this country that is Yours, not by our proclamation but because You created it, and with Your hand of authority, guide it to be honoring to You in heart, word and deed. Open the eyes of their hearts to Your authority, and cause their hearts to crumble in the wake of Your righteousness and mercy. You are God, and we are just ants in your fields, and may we continue to honor You with our attempts to be a conduit of Your grace and mercy in this hurting, angry, and prideful world. Father come quickly and take Your bride to Your supper table. I want some fried chicken! Amen!
