Christ was the ultimate example of servitude. He was the standard that we could never achieve, but that we should strive to achieve. In Psalms 100 we see a strong invitation to worship and serve God; not that God needs us, or anything we have or can do, but it is His sovereign will that we should serve Him, and that we should devote ourselves to His service and put our hands to the plow. Not only should we serve Him with our obedience, but we should come before his presence in the times that He has appointed and in which He has promised to manifest Himself. Here in the great state of Louisiana we have a restaurant called Piccadilly. Not sure if you are familiar with it, or ever frequented it. It goes like this . . . you get in line, grab a tray with utensils, grab a salad from the bar, then you slide your tray down rails in front of a banquet of food Ala old school cafeteria! I have been there many times, as you could probably see by the extra pounds I carry with me . . . wherever I go! But the thing that has always stuck with me . . . other than the food . . . is what every server on the other side of the glass asks . . . “Serve You?”
