It’s a rough time, in my heart, right now. I know that there are many things happening throughout the world today, from the horrible event in Haiti, to this crazy financial situation our country is in, but I am experiencing an extreme amount of turmoil in my heart. Thankfully the Father has given us knowledge, intellect, and wisdom to make decisions inspite of our hearts, but still, let’s face it - we are emotional creatures.
I am presently struggling with so many things, and am in a deep valley, which to my benefit, is where God usually works the most. I loathe mountain tops as there is always a return to the valley. Maybe I just hate getting hopes up when my family has experienced so many trials - but, a friend of mine Joel Klampert, twittered a verse today. It is 1 Peter 1:8 and it says this:
You never saw Him, yet you love Him. You still don’t see Him, yet you trust Him - with laughter and singing!
Presently, we are seeking a new church home. Praying and seeking the Father in His word and meditation. I am trying to discern God’s calling in public ministry. One expectation that is consistent is my morning one on one with the Father. I love my communion with the Father . . . it’s just the maintaining of that peace in the morning that wains as I experience the rest of the day, until . . . I sleep. I need to discover peace that lasts throughout the day. I need to discover a focus on the Father, that interweaves with the focus on my work day. It is the the conjoining of my heart with my labor that I long for.
Father, You are and I am not. I recognize that.
Father, use me, despite of me, even if I don’t recognize it.
May I hear your voice through the thunder, and feel Your direction in the storm.
You calm the oceans, yet at times allow us to sink in the waves, in order to see You.
May Your mercy flow over my despair.
Allow me to drink of Your comfort.
In the only name that saves - Jesus and to Your praise . . . amen.
