GOD SAUCE!

SEASON: I am a firm believer in this word. Whether you follow the word used as a noun (timed events such as a period of the year or . . . sporting events), or the verb (the act of improving , or ripening), the implications are interwoven and cross threaded.

I am living proof that God both brings us into and through seasons of life, and seasons us to who we become, through those seasons of life. I can reflect back on my life and see the seasons as building blocks that have made me who I am, and why I do what I do. Some seasons have helped prepare me for ministry, and some have helped me develop less and desired habits. But regardless, we are creatures of the Creator who need to be seasoned . . . through seasons. To think that we just float around in our lives “going with the flow”, is to attempt to slap the Father in the face, because though we may choose our path, narrow or wide, God directs our steps! In Proverbs 16:9 it says:

A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.

And thank the Father, that He does so. Left to our own . . . we would be in a state of constant wrecks.

In my quiet time today, the Father showed me something really cool, as He so often does when we hush and listen. I have been struggling for the longest time to discover what my next season is, would be, and when it will come. Well . . . it’s here, right in front of my face. In the Old Testament it talks about how Abraham was quiet for 13 years . . . 13 YEARS!!! But – it took that long for him to be completely rid of self-sufficiency, and completely reliant on the Father! What I learned is that when God is giving us a vision, or is showing us His will, He often puts us in the shadow of His hand, where we have to be still and listen, and if we push it, and try to make what we THINK is His will happen, then we may end up like Abraham did for 13 years. As we go through periods in our life, which are all God ordained, we are changed by those times, whether for percieved good or bad, regardless . . . we are changed.

The seasons of our lives . . . season our lives! Thank You Father, and yes I would love a little more “God Sauce”!

I’m enjoying my time in the OT too, we are reading chronologically thru the Bible in 2010. Amazing stuff to soak in the full counsel of his word and see his redeeming hand thruout history. May he speak to all of us and keep sanctifyihng us thru his word!
